The English Single Cask Imperial Stout Cask

The Second of two collaborations with All Day Brewing. Having lent them some oak casks to mature their Stout, we then retrieved the casks to mature our single malt in, and the result has been great. The Stout has imparted lots of praline, chocolate and roasted malts. Super small batch single malt whisky - well worth trying.

The single cask bottlings are wonderful stories in their own right; each has a history going back years, and the spirit was hand-distilled by the current team or by now-retired distillers. Each cask is unique and a little time capsule that reflects the love the distillery team have bestowed on it each year.

The English Single Cask Cyder Cask is part of our Single Cask range, showcasing the influence of our super oak casks, each type hand-picked for its unique influence on the whisky whilst maturing. Single cask releases are incredibly rare, each one yielding only a few hundred bottles.

The Cask

Imperial stout cask.

The Nose

Wafts of hot caramel, cherries, oak, roasted malts, pepper, coffee, chocolate - a lot going on in here.

The Palate

Pepper spice, dark chocolate, slight citrus peel, dark cherries, oak and soft smoke are all apparent at the beginning, but with a little time in the glass, most dissipate to leave a nutty chocolate with cherries and roasted malt.

The Finish

A medium-long roasted malt finish.
